It is hard to see how Trumps' critics are helping their cause when they react to everything Trump does as if it were a world-ending catastrophe.

When federal judges rule, government officials — up to and including the president — are supposed to obey or risk being held in contempt of court. A government that ignored the courts would be able to violate the law and the Constitution at will. So for more than two centuries, the nation’s courts have had the last word on what’s legal and constitutional — and what is not. 

This is EXACTLY the fight that must be waged and won if America is to ever get back to the premise laid out by the Framers - Separate but Equal.  That premise was destroyed, and a bloodless coup won by the Federalists before the ink was dry on the Constitution in the Marbury v. Madison case.

If President Trump is willing to lock horns on this battlefield and push back on judicial review - we've got a real shot at re-taking a fundamental piece of Liberty back into republican (small r) hands.

I pester God with prayers very, very rarely.

Right now, I pray that Donald Trump is fully educated on the 'separate but equal' premise, and that he gives the Judiciary the backfist it has needed for hundreds of years.

If you are watching the news feeds and you are NOT sensing an uptick in tension and the risk for The Ugly, you are wrong.

My analysis: President Trump knew instinctively there would be pushback on all of his campaign promises.  I think he has thought 2 or 3 moves ahead of most of the Enemy.

We shall see.  Let us hope he is wiling to go as hard as he promised.  These are the days when we will all know if he is for real - or not.

Ordered agencies to freeze new regulations, giving the new administration time to review them.

Received a key legal OK from the Justice Department for Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner to take on a role in the White House.

Announced his first foreign leader meeting will be Friday with the United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May.

Signaled a shift in the Justice Department's civil rights efforts when it requested a delay in the lawsuit over a Texas law requiring voters to present certain types of government-issued IDs.

Prepared to issue more executive orders this week.

Told the National Park Service not to tweet after it retweeted side-by-side images showing the crowd at former President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration and Trump's inauguration.

Began discussions about moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Confronted his first national disaster as President, deadly tornadoes in Georgia.

Issued executive orders to withdraw from the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal negotiations, as well as executive order on abortion and lobbyists who want to work in the White House.

Here’s the list of Trump’s executive actions so far, starting with the most recent.

12. Border wall. In this order, President Trump states it is the policy of the United States to immediately construct a wall on the southern border. The order directs agencies to begin planning and identify funding for the project, including sending requests to Congress. It also directs agencies to construct or contract out for more detention facilities at or near the Mexican border. This order also directs the hiring of an additional 5,000 border patrol agents, subject to funding. And it requires that all agencies identify any U.S. aid funds that have gone to Mexico in the past five years. (We are still awaiting an online link and will post when it appears.)

11. Deportations and sanctuary cities. This is also a longer order with several major pieces (as above, no public link yet). The president has directed agencies to step up deportation of those in the country illegally. First, he prioritizes seven groups of people for deportation. It is anyone: convicted of a crime, charged with a crime, who has committed a chargeable offense, has misrepresented themselves to the government, has abused a welfare program, who is under deportation order and who may “in the judgment of an immigration officer, otherwise pose a risk to public safety or national security.” Second, the order also directs the hiring of 10,000 more Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, though it states that is subject to funding. Third, it states the U.S. policy is now to allow local law enforcement officers to act as immigration officers whenever possible. Fourth, it orders the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security to block federal grants from so-called “sanctuary” cities which do not enforce some immigration laws.

10. Review manufacturing regulations. In this memorandum, the president ordered the Commerce Secretary to begin a 60-day review of regulations for American manufacturers, with the aim of finding ways to speed up permitting and all federal processes for them.

9. American steel in pipelines. President Trump directed the Commerce Secretary to come up with a plan to ensure that all pipelines built or repaired in the United States be constructed with American-made materials “to the maximum extent possible.”

8. Speeding up environmental reviews for all priority infrastructure. President Trump ordered that agencies and the chairman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality work together to set up faster deadlines and environmental approval for “high priority” infrastructure projects. It gives significant power and responsibility to the White House Council on Environmental Quality chairman, who will decide within 30 days if a proposed project is “high priority.” (The president has not yet nominated a new CEQ chairman.)

6 + 7. Speeding approval of Dakota Access and Keystone Oil Pipelines. President Trump ordered that permits for the the Dakota Access Pipeline be approved in an expedited manner, “including easements or rights-of-way to cross Federal areas.” (Army denial of an easement was a previous victory for pipeline opponents.) In his Keystone memorandum, Mr. Trump invited TransCanada to resubmit its application for a pipeline permit, and he directed the State Department to issue a final decision on that application within 60 days.

5. Federal hiring freeze. The president has told agencies they cannot fill any vacant positions nor open new ones, with two exceptions: military personnel and critical public safety positions.

4. TPP. This memorandum withdraws the United States from all Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations and from signing the trade deal.

3. Abortion. President Trump has ordered that federal dollars cannot go to organizations that provide abortion services.

2. Regulation freeze. The president has frozen all regulations now in process (but not approved) until they are approved by him or an agency after he took office. This means any regulation signed by former President Barack Obama in his final weeks in office — including some that deal with energy efficiency standards — are on hold until they’re reviewed by Trump’s administration.

1. ACA rollback. Mr. Trump has allowed all agency heads to waive requirements of the Affordable Care Act to the “maximum extent permitted by law.”

It's Test season!  Our first Blue Belt test process is underway - and he'll nail it.  He's been training seriously since we opened the studio.  Even I am having to use more energy than I would like to keep him in check.  ;)  I 'never' use offensive techniques with any student before they have earned their Blue Belt - that would simply be inappropriate.  But once they earn Blue - a little bit of offense here and there is simply necessary to keep them in-bounds (and off your neck!)

We have 2 other students who will test for Blue this spring - and I am confident they will pass as well.  

One is a 15-year-old gal who, I can tell you from experience, would submit 99.8% of 'militiamen' I have met over the last 7+ years - without her heart rate ever breaking 70 bpm. 

Good for her - sad for the state of our 'American Militia'.

If you roll, you understand.  The ju-jutsu Blue Belt is hardly Black - but it is most definitely a milestone in every practitioners career.  Do you have any idea how many ju-jutsu students never even reach Blue?  It is sad - most drop out once they get a taste of just how much hard work is required to advance beyond White.  Forget Purple, Brown, and Black.  Among serious practitioners, achieving your first Black Belt is considered the beginning of your training - that moment when other Black Belts can trust you are ready to begin going hard - when they know they can work with you and probably not break you.

If you roll or train, you understand.  If you don't - you don't.

Patriots: I have hit on this since I began this blog - train in Combatives.  Find a Krav Maga studio and train seriously (at LEAST 5 classes per week) for 6 months.  You'll then be able to handle 99% of The Stupid out there.  Then add to your training with ju-jutsu (ground skills) and then Aiki-Jutsu.

I do not care how good you are with that handgun or rifle - you CAN be caught in a position with empty hands and no time (think Tueller) to employ.  If you can't stay alive or conscious long enough to clear leather and bring that spiffy piece of Tupperware (or if you are a real man, Browning 1911 or 1935 steel Goodness) into play, you risk EVERYTHING you hold dear to the whims of Evil Men.  Your position CAN be overrun.  You CAN be taken by surprise while fueling your truck.  You CAN be surprised by that sudden flashmob of genetic garbage while holding your baby in your arms at the mall.  You CAN face a LEO contingent while grabbing a gallon of milk at the grocery store.

An interesting note: These idiots were marching on 13th Street NW, at Logan Circle (DC's new Gay hotspot). There's nothing there to protest for this sort of rabble.  It is primarily residential, with a bit of neighborhood retail.  As the birdie flies it is just under a mile from the White House.  As the same birdie flies, it is about 1.75 miles from the Capitol - where the inauguration was happening.  

No international New World Order organizations to protest, no Capitalist Pig orgs in the area.  Any home or business they managed to damage would have most likely been politically sympathetic to their Marxist and Anarchist viewpoints, given that DC in general, and that area in particular, runs about 102% Leftist.

Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans and people of the world, thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all of our people. Together we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come.

We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done. Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power.

And we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent. Thank you.

Today's ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another.

But we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.

For too long, a small group in our nation's capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left. And the factories closed.

The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs. And while they celebrated in our nation’s capital,  there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. That all changes starting right here and right now. Because this moment is your moment. It belongs to you.

It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country.

What truly matters is not which party controls our government but whether our government is controlled by the people. January 20th, 2017 will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.

The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

Everyone is listening to you now. You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement, the likes of which the world has never seen before.

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction -- that a nation exist to serve its citizens. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families and good jobs for themselves.

These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public. But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exist. Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities, rusted out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation, an education system flushed with cash but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge. And the crime, and the gangs, and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential. This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.

We are one nation, and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams, and their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home and one glorious destiny.

The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans. For many decades, we've enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry, subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military.

We defended other nation’s borders while refusing to defend our own.

And spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay.

We've made other countries rich while the wealth, strength, and confidence of our country has dissipated over the horizon. One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind.

The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world.

But that is the past and now we are looking only to the future.

We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital and in every hall of power. From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this day forward, it's going to be only America first -- America first.

Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs.

Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength. I will fight for you with every breath in my body. And I will never, ever let you down.

There should be no fear. We are protected, and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God.

Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger. In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving. We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action, constantly complaining but never doing anything about it.

Do not allow anyone to tell you that it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America. We will not fail. Our country will thrive and prosper again.
